The Blighted Sea is a large body of water, situated to the east of / within the Grand Choke, and to the west of Kihutaja and Rohbredden. It is called "blighted" because the Choke's antimagic zone affects all magic, flight, and even basic physics within its influence. On its western shore (which is a perfect line from north to south) lies the Choke's desert, including the remnants of the Doomed Expedition. On its eastern side lies the archipelago of islands which eventually form Kihutaja, and just before that is a mysterious Machine Tower which Rainbow visited after surviving the crossing in her raft.
